Choosing between HSS and carbide comes down to the material against the cost per hole. The BDS KBK series is built with HSS cutting edges and covers high hole counts in general fabrication and structural steel at a low cutter price; the extra outlay for a carbide cutter only pays back once the material hardens or you move into stainless. This is the short version: 30 mm cutting depth, so wall thicknesses up to 30 mm go in a single pass. The connection is a 19 mm Weldon (3/4") shank that mounts straight onto magnetic drills built to that standard. Metric sizes run from Ø12 to Ø60 mm in one-millimetre steps — 49 separate diameters, which means no rounding the hole up to the next available cutter. One larger size, Ø175 mm, sits alongside them in the series. The ZAK 075 ejector pin carries coolant into the cutting zone and pushes the slug clear at the end of the cut; running without it compromises both cooling and slug removal. The short body is stiffer than the long version of the same diameter, so deviation and vibration stay low on work under 30 mm.
