Safety Strap

A magnetic drill holds onto the workpiece only while it has power. The instant the mains drops the magnet releases and the machine falls in whatever direction it was set up. On a vertical face, overhead or at height that is not simply a lost machine but a serious injury risk to anyone below. The safety strap is the one mechanical precaution against that scenario: it ties the machine to the workpiece, to a column or to a fixed point, independently of the electrical supply. The same precaution covers the case where magnetic adhesion is weaker than expected. Painted surfaces, thin plate, a rough or chip-covered contact area and low-permeability materials such as cast iron all pull holding force below its nominal figure; where any of those conditions apply the strap is a requirement, not an option. Code MAB4000161 is defined for MABM35BASIC and MABM50BASIC bodies and fits the attachment point on the machine, needing no separate mounting or drilling. The working rule is simple: the strap goes on before the magnet is switched on, and comes off last when the machine is removed. If the webbing shows wear or a cut, or the buckle is deformed, the strap is replaced rather than repaired — a damaged safety component provides no safety.
