Pilot Pins
BDS pilot pins centre the annular cutter on the marked point and eject the slug at the end of the cut. Seven sizes cover the 30/35, 55, 75 and 110 mm cutting-depth classes.

Advantages
Accurate Centring
The cutter seats on the marked point at the start of the cut, preventing off-centre starts and the dimensional error that follows.
Reliable Slug Ejection
Spring force clears the slug when the cut finishes, removing the downtime spent freeing a slug jammed inside the cutter.
Full Size Coverage
Seven codes span the complete Ø 12–150 mm diameter range and 30–110 mm cutting depths.
Clear Selection Rule
Once cutter diameter and cutting depth are known the right pin follows in one step, with no trial and error.
Products
Features
- Four cutting-depth classes: 30/35, 55, 75 and 110 mm
- Seven sizes covering annular cutters from Ø 12 mm to Ø 150 mm
- Stated shank sizes: ZAK75 6.35 × 77 mm, ZAK100 6.35 × 103 mm, ZAK90 8 × 90 mm
- Spring action ejects the slug from the cutter at the end of the cut
- Seats the cutter on the marked point, reducing off-centre starts
- A wear part — keep spares alongside cutter sets
- Dimensioned to match German-made BDS annular cutters
A pilot pin does two jobs. At the start of the cut it seats the annular cutter on the marked point; at the end it uses spring force to push the slug clear of the cutter. That is why the pin is chosen by cutter diameter and cutting depth — a pin of the wrong length either fails to eject the slug or jams inside the cutter. Two figures settle the choice across the BDS range. By cutting depth, ZAK75 serves 30/35 mm cutters, ZAK90 30 mm, ZAK100 and ZAK120 55 mm, ZAK225 and ZAK245 75 mm, and ZAK275 cutters up to 110 mm. By diameter the range splits between small-to-medium and large cutters: ZAK75 and ZAK100 cover Ø 12–60 mm, ZAK225 Ø 18–60 mm, ZAK275 Ø 20–120 mm, ZAK120 Ø 61–100 mm, ZAK245 Ø 61–120 mm and ZAK90 Ø 61–150 mm. Where the shank size is stated it can be read straight off the code: ZAK75 6.35 × 77 mm, ZAK100 6.35 × 103 mm, ZAK90 8 × 90 mm. Only one question needs answering at the order desk: which cutter diameter and which cutting depth. The pin is a wear part — as spring force drops, slug ejection becomes less reliable, so keeping spares alongside cutter sets protects uptime.
