Made in Italy and used to bevel sheet plate and pipe and to cut pipe, GBC technology makes it easy to cut a weld bevel at a set angle, cold, without welding the plates or pipes together first.
Before the method GBC developed, bevelling was done by a hot process (oxy-fuel or plasma) or by grinding. But a hot process (oxy-fuel or plasma) disturbs the nature of the metal and so did not give a sound joint. Grinding, meanwhile, left the bevel profile below the required standard because of operator error, lengthened the job excessively and increased the risk of accidents.
The new-generation COMPACT EDGE and MULTIEDGE series make it possible to carry out bevelling — an operation that demands aesthetics and finesse — without disturbing the nature of the metal or the bevel profile, shortening the time considerably and removing the risk of accidents.
The COMPACT EDGE machine cuts a mirror-quality bevel thanks to nine carbide inserts on a milling head turning at high speed.
The brand's newest machine, the MULTIEDGE series, works on plate from 6 mm to 120 mm thick and bevels up to 80 mm.
The MULTIEDGE machine also stands out for facing, coating removal and, optionally, J-bevel capability.
