
Noting that cold bevelling is carried out using the GBC brand's MULTIEDGE bevelling machine, Habib Makina Import and Finance Manager Yusuf Habib said: “The most important feature of our GBC MULTIEDGE machine is the advanced technology that allows cold bevelling without disturbing the structure of the metal it is used on.
Before this technology developed by GBC, bevelling was done with oxygen (flame) or by grinding. But bevelling with oxygen (flame) or a grinder heats the metal and disturbs its alloy, so it did not allow a sound weld. There are still brands in our sector cutting in that old way with a flame, but welds made that way do not hold well and can lead to serious problems,” he said.
Recording that the new-generation GBC MULTIEDGE — which makes bevelling, an operation demanding aesthetics and finesse, easy to carry out cold — can cut a mirror-quality bevel thanks to nine carbide inserts on a milling head turning at high speed, Yusuf Habib emphasised that the GBC MULTIEDGE, usable on plate from 6 mm to 120 mm thick and bevelling up to 80 mm, also stands out for facing, coating removal and, optionally, J-bevel capability.
