First of all, because the bevel is cut without putting the metal through any heat process, the structure of the metal is not disturbed, and the smooth surface obtained improves weld quality.
A mirror-quality weld surface is obtained without any further operation, so energy use and carbon emissions — among today's pressing problems — also fall, along with time and manpower.
