Before this technology developed by GBC, bevelling was carried out with oxygen (flame) or by grinding. However, bevelling done with oxygen (flame) or by grinding heated the metal and disturbed its alloy, so it did not allow a sound weld. There are still brands in our sector that cut in this old flame style, but welds made that way do not hold well and can lead to serious problems," he said.
Yusuf Habib noted that the new-generation GBC MULTIEDGE, which allows the bevelling operation — one that calls for aesthetics and fineness — to be applied easily in the cold, can produce a mirror-quality bevel thanks to nine carbide inserts mounted on a milling head running at high speed. He stressed that the GBC MULTIEDGE, which can be used on plate from 6 mm to 120 mm thick and can bevel up to 80 mm, also stands out for its ability to face edges, remove coating and, optionally, produce a J bevel.
