Advantages
Three Jobs, One Machine
Facing, outside bevel and inside bevel run off the same body by changing the blade, so no second machine goes to site.
Grade Per Material
Carbon, TiCN-coated and Inox grades are defined separately. The right grade prevents built-up edge and early dulling.
Double-Ended Facing
The facing blade has two cutting edges; turning it round when one dulls doubles the blade life.
Angle To Procedure
Outside bevel options at 30°, 37.5° and 45° deliver the included angle the welding procedure asks for, at blade level.
Products
Features
- Outside bevel blades at 30°, 37.5° and 45°
- Inside bevel blades at 15°, 30° and 45°
- Double-ended facing blades — the dull edge is renewed by turning the blade
- Three cutting grades: carbon steel, TiCN-coated stainless and Inox
- Double-ended outside bevel insert defined for both carbon and stainless
- Fits BOILER K and BOILER 1-4 K bodies
- Facing, outside bevel and inside bevel on one machine by changing the blade
Weld preparation on boiler and pipe work is three separate jobs: facing the pipe end square to the axis, cutting the outside bevel, and where required cutting an inside bevel. BOILER K and BOILER 1-4 K machines do all three on the same body, and the blade decides which. Outside bevel blades are defined at 30°, 37.5° and 45° — 37.5° is half of the 75° included angle commonly called for on pipe welds, 30° reduces the volume to be filled and the weld metal consumed, and 45° opens up access to the root on heavy wall. Inside bevel blades come at 15°, 30° and 45°. Facing blades are double-ended: when one edge dulls, the blade is turned round and the second cutting edge is used, giving two lives per blade. The range is offered in three cutting grades. The carbon steel (KÇ) grade is for structural and boiler tube. On the TiCN-coated stainless (PÇ) grade, the coating reduces the tendency of the sticky stainless chip to weld itself to the cutting edge. The Inox (IÇ) grade is defined as an alternative for stainless work. A double-ended outside bevel insert is also defined for use on both carbon and stainless steel. Grade follows the pipe material; the wrong grade means built-up edge and early dulling.
