Advantages

Angle Held Mechanically

The head sets the angle, so the bevel comes out the same regardless of feed rate or how steady the operator’s hand is.

Low Cost Per Metre

A dull edge means changing the insert, not the head. Consumable cost is counted per insert rather than per cutter head.

Many Angles, One Machine

The same hand machine covers preparations from 15° to 60° by swapping heads, so no second machine is needed.

Radius And Bevel

R1–R8 radius heads handle edge breaking and paint adhesion on the same machine that cuts the weld preparation.

Features

  • Bevel heads at 15°, 22.5°, 30°, 37.5°, 45°, 52.5° and 60°
  • Radius heads from R1 to R8 for edge rounding and paint adhesion
  • Bevel depths of 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm
  • Fits Bevel Mate®, Bevel Mite® and Mini Mite™ hand-held machines
  • Replaceable inserts — a dull edge costs an insert, not the head
  • Head choice sets both the bevel angle and the width the machine can cut
  • Lite bodies, coded L and LR, offered at the same angles and radii
  • Defined for carbon steel; stainless work uses the separate inox head range

Two numbers decide a weld preparation: the angle and the depth. On the Beveltools range both are fixed by which head you fit — the bevel comes out at that angle and that depth, and the operator’s feed rate does not change it. The carbon steel range covers 15°, 22.5°, 30°, 37.5°, 45°, 52.5° and 60° in bevel heads, and R1 through R8 in radius heads. Depth follows the machine: Mini Mite™ cuts 4 mm, Bevel Mite® 6 and 12 mm, Bevel Mate® 8, 10 and 12 mm. Choosing is straightforward. A single-sided V preparation usually sits between 30° and 37.5°; 45° opens up access to the root; narrow angles such as 15° and 22.5° cut the volume to be filled on thick wall, and with it the weld metal consumed. Radius heads are not weld preparation at all — they break and round the edge for paint adhesion and handling, and the R figure states the rounding the head produces, R1 being the sharpest and R8 the widest. The L and LR prefixes in the code mark Lite bodies, offered at the same angle and depth values. The whole range is defined for carbon steel; stainless work calls for the separate inox head range.
