On a rail, what actually holds the machine is not the magnet but the adapter. A rail head and web give a magnetic base no flat surface to sit on, so both the seating of the machine and its position through the cut depend on adapter geometry. That is why the BDS adapters are not one universal part: each rail profile has its own set, covering UIC 50, UIC 54, UIC 60 and S49/S54. S49 and S54 share a single adapter, so those two profiles need only one line in stock. The second decision is the machine body. RailMAB 915/925 takes MABZAS49S, MABZAS50U, MABZAS54U and MABZAS60U; RailMAB 960/965 takes MABZAS254S, MABZAS250U, MABZAS254U and MABZAS260U. The two families are not interchangeable, and a 960-series adapter will not fit a 915 body. Ordering therefore needs two facts settled: the rail profile on site, and the RailMAB model in hand. Each adapter ships as a complete set, so the parts needed to mount the machine arrive together and nothing has to be chased on site. With the right profile, the machine seats repeatably and hole centres stay consistent along the track.
