On MINI K and MINI AUTO COMPACT blades the usual source of an ordering mistake is not the angle but the shank. Every blade in this range is coded in one of four shank diameters — 12.4, 13.9, 16.9 or 20 mm — and the shank has to match the machine's blade seat; the right angle on the wrong shank is of no use. Measuring the shank of the blade already in the machine removes that risk entirely. On the cutting side there are two jobs. Outside bevel blades are defined at 30°, 37.5° and 45°: 37.5° is the value most commonly called for on pipe welds, 30° narrows the groove and so cuts the volume to be filled and the weld metal consumed, and 45° opens access to the root on heavy wall. Facing blades bring the pipe end square to the axis and are defined under separate codes for MINI K and for MINI AUTO COMPACT — they are not shared between the two machines. Three cutting grades are offered: carbon steel (KÇ) for structural pipe, TiCN-coated stainless (PÇ) to reduce chip welding onto the cutting edge on stainless pipe, and Inox (IÇ) as an alternative for stainless work. Shank, angle, operation and grade are four independent axes, and all four appear in the order code.
