Advantages

Two Edges Per Insert

The inserts are double-sided. When one edge dulls the insert is turned, so consumable cost divides across two cutting edges.

Fits Every Head

The UTEV10970 stainless insert runs with all angled milling heads, so a shop working several angles covers stainless from one line.

Coating For Volume

TiCN-coated UTX10970 cuts sticking on stainless and raises the metres each insert delivers before it is turned.

Ordered By Group

Carbon, stainless and coated stainless are separate lines, so fixing the material group leaves exactly one code.

Features

  • Double-sided insert: two cutting edges per piece
  • Carbon steel, stainless steel and TiCN-coated stainless versions
  • UTEV10970 runs with all of the angled milling heads
  • The TiCN coating lowers sticking when cutting stainless
  • The consumable for the MANUAL EDGE angled milling heads
  • Change the insert when the material group changes

On the MANUAL EDGE the head sets the angle and the insert sets the cutting performance. All three codes are double-sided: when one edge dulls the insert is turned and the second edge goes to work, so each insert yields two cutting edges. The choice runs on material group. UTC10970 is the carbon steel line, the standard item for carbon and low-alloy plate. UTEV10970 is specified for stainless and, as its product data states outright, runs with all of the angled milling heads — meaning a shop working across several angles can cover its stainless work from a single insert line. UTX10970 is the TiCN-coated stainless version. The coating does one clear job here: it lowers the tendency of stainless to stick to the cutting edge and keeps that edge sharp for longer, so metres per insert go up. In sustained stainless production the coated insert produces fewer stoppages than the uncoated one. For a mixed line the practical approach is to hold the carbon insert permanently and decide between uncoated and TiCN on the stainless side according to volume.
