SUPERMAXI 7_24
Machinable pipe range 219 - 630 mm
APPLICATIONS
SUPERMAXI 7-24 machines belong to the class of edge preparation machines and are intended for forming the weld bevel on the ends of pipe, fittings and valves. Powerful and reliable, the SM 7-24 series is built for use both in the workshop and in the hard conditions of pipeline construction.

- Pipe and pipe products from 219 to 630 mm in diameter;
- Weld edge preparation for every pipe welding process;
- Machining of all grades of steel, including high-carbon,
- high-strength and stainless
Smooth running, cutting speed and feed rate come from the new transmission and drive system, which holds the radial speed and the longitudinal feed constant, keeps the torque highly stable and keeps vibration to a minimum.
Setting up and centring the machine is as easy, accurate and practical as possible thanks to the precision with which the interchangeable spacer segments are made.
A segment can be fitted with replaceable contact plates in high-strength steel or in a special aluminium for pipe with an internal lining.

The way the SM 7-24 mounts inside the pipe is extremely simple. Six contact points hold the machine securely and eliminate vibration. Mounting with interchangeable spacer segments allows a wide range of pipe to be machined.
A dependable chip removal system keeps the cutting process continuous.
indexable inserts
The optional configuration machines pipe up to 630 mm in diameter.
[ 20 ]
A wide range of cutting speed settings makes it possible to use different kinds of cutting tool: regrindable high-speed steel tools, or tools with standard ISO indexable inserts. Two tools of different configuration can be fitted at the same time, which makes any bevel geometry possible. The screw adjustment on the insert tools sets the tool to the required position simply and quickly. Insert tools, like high-speed steel tools, can be made to different angles to the customer's order, for both internal and external machining.
The machine comes with two kinds of tool slide: two slides for standard high-speed steel tools and two of a new generation intended for tools with indexable inserts. The slide has an effective chip removal system.
An extended slide and a set of additional spacer segments (extra option) allow pipe up to 630 mm in diameter to be machined.

- To compensate for pipe ovality the machine can be ordered with two copying slides that
- follow the ovality of the pipe. Depending on the process requirement, copying
- slides are supplied in two types:
- copying along the outer surface of the pipe;
- copying along the inner surface of the pipe.
