Features

  • A reed invention requiring only a 4” (102mm) clearance around the pipe
  • Can be used anywhere - in trenches, underwater, at heights, on pipe racks!
  • Movement range of sapwood: 90° to 110°

Cuts four-wheel steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and ductile iron with only a 90° - 110° handle swing. Requires only a 4” (102 mm) clearance around the pipe. Strong guide rollers ensure perfect wheel alignment for a clean cut. The enclosed 360° frame transfers all energy into cutting the pipe for maximum efficiency and productivity.
It provides. There is no sparking during this cold cut. This is the only single-hinged cutter that follows every time, and it is the only product recommended for ductile iron, steel, and stainless steel under Schedule 100. This tool is a Reed invention.

Why Reed?

Hinged Cutters™ are an invention of Reed! They are lighter, follow a good path for clean cuts, and require less clearance, yet produce better torque, resulting in faster and less strenuous cutting. They can be used everywhere – in trenches, underwater, at heights, on pipe racks, in quiet environments, etc.

NOTE: S = Steel / Stainless steel; I = Cast and ductile iron; X = Schedule-80 steel; XX = Schedule-100 steel. Cutting wheels are interchangeable for cutters of the same size. Reed cutter wheels are recommended for Hinged Cutters™. Reed wheels are made from high-impact steel and then precisely heat-treated on CNC machines. This results in a thinner profile and a stronger blade, thus:

  • They cut ductile pipes and stainless steels quickly and easily.
  • They last much longer
  • They allow working in confined spaces with a shorter cutter handle.
  • They offer the best value
