For excellent weld seam performance, the preparation of the plate bevel must be precise and accurate. Graebener® plate beveling machines offer you the most effective and economical solutions to achieve the best results. Benefit from our technical expertise based on years of experience and master all weld seam geometries with high speed, precision, and reliability.

Overview

Graebener® beveling machines are designed based on our years of technical expertise. As our customer and partner, you can benefit from the extensive experience we gained between 1974 and 1997 in our own pipe mill. Thanks to this experience, we know that high precision in plate edge machining can only be achieved if the plates remain clamped throughout the entire processing time. Especially with large format plates, your Graebener® plate beveling machine will further enhance economic efficiency in plate edge machining.

Its main application areas are shipbuilding, wind tower construction, bridge construction, and ship and equipment manufacturing. However, plate rolling mills and steel service centers are also among our customers.

When compared to alternative plate edge processing methods, the advantages of milling technology are far greater. We're leveraging these advantages to the fullest.

The solutions we offer are extremely ideal for a wide variety of plate sizes.

Plate length: up to 20 m
Cider thickness: Up to 65 mm

Machine Concepts

Graebener® plate beveling machines should no longer be considered standard solutions. As a custom machine manufacturer, we have been professionally specialized in machine concepts for years, taking into account the continuously increasing requirements in weld seam preparation quality. These concepts are customized according to your individual requirements, as well as the materials and quality classes used. Our mission is to do everything we can to ensure that your Graebener® machine makes you more successful, whether you need a new machine or a refurbishment solution.

Based on the following machine concepts, we will find the most suitable solution for you (We can also generate other solutions with alternative machine concepts according to your desired specifications. Please contact us):

ADVANTAGES

All Graebener® plate edge beveling machines feature a tried and tested design that operates reliably even under the toughest conditions. We avoid using extra rotating assemblies that could be subject to wear or malfunction. Even after years of use, your Graebener® machine will continue to operate with high precision, speed, and reliability. Take advantage of the technical benefits of your Graebener® plate edge beveling machine.

  • The milling process does not cause additional stress on the plate, for example, due to heat. Recyclable milling chips dissipate heat.
  • You will have a metallic glossy surface
  • High parallelism on milled edges
  • You can benefit from our perfect plate clamping system:
    • High compliance rate
    • Proper weld beveling
    • Less wear on milling cutters
    • Less vibration
  • The plates are measured automatically
  • Low environmental impact due to noise, dust, and heat emission
  • In addition to U-shaped stitches, chamfering is also possible.
  • Electronic copying of the plate waves presents a center-focused milling profile
  • Depending on the type of machine, the plates can be placed inside the machine, no garage crane is needed
  • Depending on the design, you can also machine the cladding plates.
